Saitama is the 5th most populous province in Japan with the administrative center being Saitama city. As of June 2023, according to a report from the Saitama prefectural office, the total number of Vietnamese people in Saitama is 36,683 people, accounting for 16.5% of the total foreigners in Saitama.
Vietnamese Association in Saitama is a non-profit organization established to connect Vietnamese citizens currently living and working in Saitama province (Japan). With the goal of maximizing the organization's role in gathering and supporting Vietnamese people in Saitama province in particular and performing the role of a child, the Vietnamese people to connect and spread together. national cultural beauty to international friends in general.
CORE VALUES IN THE MISSION TO CONNECT THE VIETNAMESE COMMUNITY IN SAITAMA
To study, work and gain a certain place in Japanese society today, we Vietnamese must successfully integrate into the culture of the host country. This cultural integration has the following main elements: language integration, life cultural integration and spiritual cultural integration... For everyone, the biggest obstacle is probably language, Having enough language ability for daily activities is difficult, but studying and working is much more difficult, so language integration is the first and most urgent task. The next task is to integrate local cultural life from lifestyle, behavior, neighborliness,... how to become a true member of the society in which one lives.
While trying to integrate the language and cultural life of the native country, we Vietnamese people are at high risk of accidentally gradually losing our own cultural identity. Preserving national cultural identity suddenly becomes our sacred duty. Because if you don't try to keep your own, you will inevitably be dissolved in the flow of multiculturalism.
In that context, Vietnamese people need to clearly determine that they must contribute to preserving national identity, the first specific thing is to maintain Vietnameseness in a foreign land. How do Japanese people see their own uniqueness and recognize the differences in their culture from other countries? There are currently more than 36,683 Vietnamese people in Saitama province and this number is expected to increase. Invisibly, a miniature Vietnamese community or society will be formed in Saitama province. If we are not united and have no direction, then in reality the risk of turning "integration" into "dissolution" is not non-existent. Thus, we Vietnamese people have to shoulder two seemingly opposing tasks: "Successful integration while preserving national cultural identity". The Vietnamese Association in Saitama Province was established to support the Vietnamese community in Saitama Province to carry out the above urgent task.
